Hi Holly.

My Nan has said that there is an Irish connection, but thought it was from the FLYNN side. The 1911 census for their address (45 Epsom Street, Liverpool) says that she was born in Liverpool though. As well as her death certificate, but it's worth looking into...

Though from every search for anything Irish related, all my queries have come back being a waste of time.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for that. I guess that's my only option seen as there seems to be nothing out there...

What a frustrating surname LoL.

Could she possibly have been Irish?

The are no births registered for the name Gristlewhite between 1841 and 1911 that i can see. Except for one in 1865.

I also can't find any Gristlewhites in any census apart from an 1841 one. The nearest I can find is Grissenthwaite.

This is definitely a case of having to purchase the marriage certificate, I think.

Looking for any info on Mary Margaret Gristlewhite born 8 June 1890 in Liverpool.

Married Patrick Flynn in 1910 had 3, maybe 4 children.
Ellen Flynn (1910)
Veronice Flynn (1914)
James Flynn (1917)
Mary Flynn (after 1918 possibly adopted out - family story can't find any documents)

The surname doesn't pop up many places. It's definately spelt correctly. It's on the birth certificate for my Great Grandmother (Ellen Flynn) and it's on the birth registration during 1890. So unless it had a variant for Mary's parents...

Patrick Flynn died in 1922 and Mary went on to marry Charles Slater in 1932.

Mary died in 1975 in Liverpool.

If anyone could help out with finding info on my GG Grandmother, I would be very appreciative. I can't find her in any census forms.
