Find Ancestors

I wonder if anyone might be able to help me...I have hit a brick wall with a Mary Elizabeth TOPPING (1898). I have a copy of her marriage certficate to Charles Richard ROSTRON in 1921, in Blackburn and have her father as Christopher Daniel TOPPING, deceased by the time of the wedding. I believe he was born in Bolton in 1868, as was Mary in 1898. I cannot find any trace at all of who her mother/his wife is on census or marriage records on this site. Christopher's line seem to go back to Wigan.

I cannot find Mary Elizabeth in the 1901 or 1911 documents when as far as I can tell she should have been in Bolton, or perhaps Blackburn by the time of the latter.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you so much, that's brilliant help.
On the marriage certificate it gives his occupation as a foundry worker but having seen the census records, there are no other Christopher Toppings around at the time, it was just the 1901, 1911 ones I was struggling with because I couldn't find Mary Jane.
I'm now assuming in 1901 Mary Jane is the Mary Fane Topping also a boarder, but there is no clue as to where Mary Elizabeth is at this point...
