Lincolnshire, James Stanley, where did he go?

Hi, I've been searching in vain for James Stanley, born 1845 in Pointon Fen Lincolnshire , baptised at Semringham on 3rd August 1845, son of Anthony and Sarah, formerly Marshall.
He appears on the 1851 census living at home with his parents and siblings in Quadring Fen, where the family farmed for several generations. I haven't been able to find a marriage or death for James, or any further census returns after 1851. There is a death for a James Boardman Stanley in Spalding district, James didn't have a middle name and the age is wrong, so thats ruled out for sure. James' younger brother William spent some time lodging with a family in Brightside Bierlow Sheffield (1871 census) but then came back to Quadring to settle down, I did wonder if James may have joined him, but there's no trace there either. His sister Emma was in service in London, married and settled in islington, and another sister Susannah also lived in London, the rest of the family stayed in Quadring.
Any ideas would be very welcome please, many thanks in advance.

There could be three reasons for not finding him
He may have died
He may be on board a ship
He may have emigrated.
Good luck

Susannah never married, she worked for the Gilbert family for over thirty years, she and another sister Sarah were buried in the same grave in Finchley. HiJan,
I haven't found him on the 1861 census you showed me yet, do you think the name looks anything like Stanley please? I'm not sure, it's quite a way from Quadring Fen. I still live in the area.
Thanks again.
