Good morning, last night out of sheer frustration about this family and the way they change the spelling of there surname I went back to my ancestry tree ... Low and behold I found abbot four of them and was able to confirm that they had changed the spellings BUT all were born of the same parents, so fuss what I shall be doing later today. When I have complete my findings I will post them on here and to anyone who thinks they may be a part of the family.
Stella as soon as I can I will email you with all the correct details on a just in case mode....this is what makes this research so interesting to me

Thank you for your message, I will have to find out when we Were last in contact. I live in Peniscola, famous for it's wonderful Castle, second most visited historical building in Spain. Very Spanish still, many Brits gone back to UK because of the recession.

Any help at all with the MacKevoy and their various spelling of their name would be very helpful. Also the same for the Marten family.

My Gearge was also a boxer! I deliberately did not add these details as I wanted to make sure that the Info would be fairly accurate, the spelling of his surname is one of the ways the children changed their names.

If you could PM me that would be great. Do you have the certs if not I will get them and share them with you. Dates would be useful if you have them for birth marriage etc....

my aunt Phoebe Martin(c 1915) was married to a George Mc Avory in 1940... if that is any help they lived in the east end , the only thing i know about George is that he was a boxer..i seem to think they may have had a son called John

Thank you for your replies and I am so glad that you all had a giggle at my spelling mistake, I did a few moments ago.

Ok . I married the son of James 1910. I would like to have as much info for my children to know who their ancestors and their cousins etc are.

I only lost contact with any of the family 18 years ago after the divorce.
The difficulty I have is that most of them used a variation of there surname, MacKevoy, and I cannot remember any of them.

So I have two tasks really one to go beyond the info from Dee who has confirmed what I have found and secondly to try to find my childrens' cousins

I would also like to find out if Lillian Freeman is the half sister of the Mackevoy side of the family or elizabeths family.

Without twittering on what I would like is any info and to discover if people change their name formally can I find what name they took on?

I do hope that this all makes sense...

I rather like the word fater it describes how I feel about this family at the moment!!

Good afternoon,
I wonder if anyone can help me either with advice or with some answers.
I am searching the MacKevoy family from the east end of London. I know that the folowing informations is correct as I was married to a member of the family for more thatn 20 years, and met these people. However they often changed the spelling of the surname, some by deed Pole and others through usage.

Children of James Mackevoy and Elizabeth Marten (sometimes transcribed as Martin)

Jane born in 1907 and died 1909, confirmed through records.

James born 1910 confirmed by records and he was my father in law.

George born in 1911 I met him several times

Maud born in 1912, I have all hher information,moved to the isle of white after her husband died. Her daughter was already living there and owned a B&B

Robert born in 1914, I met him several times up to the 1980s I believe that his son was in the Air Force and was also named Robert, known as Rob and I think they lived in Kent.

William born in 1917

Edward born in 1920

Walter J born in 1921

Ellen born in 1926

We also cahnged the surname to MacEvoy on advice that we eventually learnt was wrong!!!
Any info or helpful advice will be much appreciated.
