Find Ancestors

Hi Everyone

I am looking for a marriage between a Donald Bain born 1890, Gairloch, and a female known to me as Ethel Ellen. It would have occurred sometime after 1910 I believe. The may have lived in the Midhurst Sussex area. They had two children that I am aware of by name only....A Paul Bain, and a Catherine Bain. Just wondering if anyone could help me track down this family.

I understand that Paul may have died young by drowning and that Catherine at some point married and moved to Australia. grasping at straws to see if I can find any info on these people.

Yes you have the correct info for Donald Bain. I believe his actual dob is August 26, 1890. I havent been able to find a marriage or a death for him on Scotlands people...

I have send you births of children by message but different surname for mother. A bit confusing, as both children seem to be born in the correct area. But I cannot find a marriage to match in Scotland or England.

No that is Ethel Tilick. but as you will see from my message the mother mentioned has a different name.

been doing some thinking on this I'll bet these are the right people. I had forgotten that this could have been Ethels second Marriage.......if I remember right she could have had one child in this previous message but I have no idea of a name. Was possibly a son is all I know.

you need to view you have to subscribe but they give 14 day free trials. For Scottish birth, deaths and marraiges - Scotlands People, you have to register and pay to view. But the Scottish censuses are transcribed on Ancestry to 1901. For 1911 census SP.

Perhaps I had only a piece or two of correct info....Ethel Ellen could have in fact been Ethel Ellen Hide, and I was just missing her correct last name.

Yes I think Chichester seems to thread through. She appears to be about 20 years younger than Donald. But the mystery for me is the childen. However perhaps some eagle eyed researcher on here can guide you in the right direction. i'm sure someone else will pick this up. i've got to say my prefrred searches are in Scotland, but I am developing an understanding of the English searches.
