The 'rounding' in 1841 was applied ONLY to over-15's, and they were rounded down - to the nearest '5'...........not up. |

flick - i have and thank you... and no doubt i have done that wrong too :( .... hadn't realized this was a duplicate (previously it was one in surnames one in trying to find) as i am now looking for the mother not the son in the same place.... so how do i add this to the other one?.... and the rounding up thing lead to believe that is what happens... so i don't know.... you guys are really great with your help but man... it is hard not to come away from this not feeling completely stupid! please just bare with me....... early days..... |

Children's ages were NOT rounded |

I think they have rounded up/down the age to the nearest 5 years - hence the confusion.... |

Hart... that might help if i got the spelling right ;) |

I would think he was it the same house it is just that ancestry seems to split families up on the 1841 census. I see you spelt their name as Heart when I think it should be Hart |

I think that he was 7. he was born c.1834 - 1906. The fathers name Robert was on his wedding certificate ... so the mothers name is a guess based on rodmarton being a small village and he is in this house.... |

Does it say he is a son or is this on the 1841 where relationships are not shown? |
