Think moving to Manchester was to get away from the gloom of their kids dying in Glasgow as well as his parents being in the poorhouse! |

Its just what someone told me who is subscribed to Ancestry.ca. They found my KEATING (O'Donnell) leaving Halifax in 1933. Must get a copy of that passenger list. Also, Dominick Keating has left Canada for Manchester and is on th UK census in 1901 & 1911. |

Dominick Keating moved his family to Loom St, Manchester apparently on the 1901 census. Havent seen it yet though and are in George Leigh St in 1911. They had bad luck with kids in Glasgow so went to Manchester for a better life i think. |

Walter Alexander is the father in law of Charles Keating(father of my gran) but their relationship isnt listed. Just listed as lodger. Ive seen a couple of pictures of Water St and its mostly empty. The street index available online doesnt have many people listed in Water St in 1911/12. |

Is Walter Alexander living with the Keatings in 1911 at Water St, in the district of Maryhill. What relation is Alexander to the 'Head of the house' |

Ive just noticed that the 1911 census that my gran is missing on, her uncle Walter Alexander is a musician. Any ideas how i can find anything on him. The Alexanders were living at Water St, Glasgow, couldnt find them in the street index though. |

Well I found my grans siblings, father and grandparents in the same house but no sign of her or her mother. There was a rumour of the mother being sent to prison once but i thought this a rumour and thats all. Maybe its true but surely my gran wouldnt be there as she was only 5. |
