Hello Emma, Cooper isn't an unusual name so the best place to start is to get some certificates of marriages and births to get parent's names and father's occupations. |

Could this be her marriage? |

This is the only death I can find in the Derbyshire area that roughly fits. |

This birth fits the initial on the marriage: |

Oh there's an Eva that would fit too! Where is Olive! |

Unless for some odd reason her mother went to Basford (Notts) to have her. The others all have second names though, so why wouldn't they give Olive one. |

It looks as though the Olive and Leslie marriage cert is the only way to go Emma. |

Need to look at this one carefully in conjunction with a map of the time. Chesterfield is Derbyshire not Derby and Shardlow Registration District can cover as far as Stapleford in Nottinghamshire. |

I think the Evans one looks a good possibility Perchino but I'm not at all confident that we have found the Olive Cooper family. That's why I said the marriage cert is the only way to go. The marriage in Shardlow is the only one that fits in Derbyshire. |

The 1911 that Christine asked about shows Charlotte as married 12 years. It says she has 5 children born, 4 surviving. Written across the census page are the words "Husband Absent". |

Christine2 your advice is very sensible. Unfotrunately will not have time to look until this weekend but there are early Derby (now) inner city records on the internet which I found some time ago in a very obscure place. Boundary changes in 1890's will not help. Also worth a look in the Leicestershire records. |
