Have you looked for Daisy in genes to see if anyone else has her in their tree?
(And George, and Marie and Doreen?)

Bit of a damper - the two marriage certs arrived on Saturday and show that the two sisters I had earmarked as being children of Daisy nee Abercorn/Haferkorn and George Davies were not so - Marie Davies who marries John William Bailey in 1951 Liverpool is daughter of a Joseph Davies and Doreen Davies married in 1955 Liverpool has a father Charles Davies.... so still searching for what happened to Marie or Marion Davies daughter of Daisy and George Davies ! What an elusive family this is turning out to be ! Stephen barlow

I have sent for marriage certs of both Marie/Marion Davies and her sister Doreen - hopefully will provide some clues. Interesting that Marion /Marie may have died whilst living in Bury - I live in Bolton ! Stephen Barlow

If you get the birth certificate with exact date of birth, that can help find possible deaths. Ancestry deaths only go to 2005, and she would only be just over 80 then. We do not know if she was going as Marie or Marion Bailey. We do not know if she stayed in Lancashire.
This could be a death:
Marion Bailey
Birth Date: 13 Aug 1929
Death Registration Month/Year: 1975
Registration district: Bury
Inferred County: Greater Manchester
Volume: 38
Page: 0779
but there are other possibilities.

Thanks very much to all - had thought name was Marie so interesting to see a Marion Abercorn birth registered- that will be the one I'm sure. Does this mean Marion becomes Marie - I will need the marriage cert. to check father and see if it is the correct one. Is thee any way to work out whether Marion/Marie Davies has remained married , re-married or has died ?
Sorry for late reply - childcare duties ! Stephen Barlow

There is no birth for a Marie Davies, mother's maiden name Abercorn. There is a Marion - is that what you meant?

Why do you not get the marriage certificate for fathers' names?
Marriages Sep 1951
BAILEY John W DAVIES Liverpool N. 10d 530
DAVIES Marie BAILEY Liverpool N. 10d 530

Do you believe either to be still alive, and what relation are you to them?
Thanks

Trying to find Mrie Davies, daughter of Daisy(nee Abercorn but had changed name from Haferkorn) and George Davieswho were married in 1928 Liverpool. Marie may have married a John W Bailey in 1951 but I cannot confirm this. If I find Marie or any children then it may well unlock a real puzzle, Thanks Stephen Barlow
