Esther Spurdon Irwing was born (probably) at 11, Church Street, Sunderland to Anthony Irwing and Susannah Spurdon in1859. Anthony had 5 children to his wife, Jane Moody, and a further 12 to Susannah, who was his housekeeper. They didn't marry until Jane died in 1885!!
Susannah was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk and the children were given her surname on the registration certificates.
I hope that clarifiesher birth for you She would have been my great-aunt, I suppose, since my garandfather was Edward, the youngest son of Anthony!
