From the 1871 census it looks as if Patrick and Margaret moved to Liverpool from Ireland 1867/9 to judge from the childrens births
Oddly however in 1881 Patrick says born Scotland not Ireland tho this is probably a mistake
There is no marriage for hoim England or Wales so almost certainly they married in ireland.
The only possible family I can see in 1851 in Liverpool is a John and Jane Skerry both aged 57, he born Ireland ,she born Dorset, but it would be unusual for parents to emigrate leaving a 14 yearold son at home in Ireland
I suggest you amend your heading to include "Irish records" to catch the attention of the Irish researchers on these boards

Hi Eileen

The first three children were born in Ireland ,the last two born Liverpool.

Patrick was a boot maker and Margaret a Dressmaker, she was also born Ireland.
I would say by looking at the childrens births that the family went to England around 1868

I would say they married in Ireland but where is the question.

As you probably know Irish records are very hard to get hold of ,I am not that great at finding them but if you Nudge your thread up from time to time I am sure some kind sole will help you out.

If I find anything else I will post on this thread.
Sue

Good morning, I am seeking help in tracing the ancesters of my Great Grandfather Patrick Skerry dob 1837 he married Margaret Gernon dob 1833. Patrick died in 1893. I would be interested to know his parents where they lived etc. I think they may have had connections with Liverpool. If anyone is able to help with my search I would be most greatfull . Thanks
