Talanya Report 19 Mar 2011 23:33

Frederick Charles Hyson b.1894, Portsmouth. Parents: Joseph Hyson and Mary Seale. I've been sent an email from Genes asking if Frederick was a WW1 veteran, so I had a quick look on the site for WW1 deaths and sure enough there was a person with the same name. Is there anyone who could throw some more light onto this please so I could establish it is the same person?

I've been focussed on a different part of our tree for a while and that's why this is out of the blue!...as usual, very curious though!

Thanks again in anticipation.

Thank you PricklyHolly

I'll endeavour to find out what the abbreviations mean.

All the information certainly points to this being a relative.

Thanks again.

Talanya

Talanya Report 20 Mar 2011 00:50

Thanks so much...

Arthur was Fredericks brother and Florence Beatrice Hyson was my grandmother, (whom I never met).

It's all slotting into place....

I REALLY appreciate everyones help, thanks again.

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 20 Mar 2011 00:50

If Arthur was born in 1880.....that would make him 14 when he had Frederick!!

Sorry PricklyHolly..I think our posts crossed!!

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 20 Mar 2011 00:54

So Arthur was the brother and not the father!

Mmm...it's late!

I have snippets and rumours as every other family history researcher has I'm sure but it gets confusing sometimes and I'm not the brightest button in the box ;-)

Thanks to everyone for last nights information.

With regard to Frederick and Mauds marriage in June Quarter of 1916...I know it's probably a long shot but I'd like to know if they had any children. On the 1911 census I cannot find Maud.

Any tips please? Ta.

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 20 Mar 2011 11:15

There does not appear to be any children born to that marriage.
I think you need to be careful Talanya, the information i gave you might very well be connected to the Frederick Charles Hyson in the 1901 census i sent you last night. PH

Ok PricklyHolly, I'll stick with what I was doing originally on another part of the tree I think! It was so interesting and it's hard for me to ignore things like that! I need to be more organised! I'll get there eventually!

Thank you for your help though, greatly appreciated.

PricklyHolly...mainly just assumptions and snippets from the family. It was incidental findings yesterday. I'm putting the Hysons on the back burner for a while and concentrating on the other part of the family I was searching. Thanks though.

Thanks also to Gwyn.
