Thank you -- for looking

Yes --- I have that cert --- that is her marriage to my rellie ---- he states he is a widower -- although an earlier marriage I have never found --- I think both of them had a slight problem with factual events -- to speak politely of them

Hi All

am nudging this up --

Just possible someone can help with something new

Thanks

Renes

I have received a pm from a member researching the same family -- a ¿ sister Mary Ann --- it is as follows

Hi Irene,

I have just been reading some posts from last year concerning William Harrison. I've been having the same trouble tracing Mary Ann Harrison, whom I believe is the daughter of your William.

In the 1871 & 1881 census returns Mary gave her place of birth as Denton, Cheshire, but both her marriages were registered as Oldham, Lancashire.

Her first marriage was to John Bromeley (another one hard to find as the spelling of the surname keeps changing). John died in 1869 and she then married Edmund Baker in 1874 before emigrating to America with her daughters Sarah & Clara (they appear on the 1885 Minnesota Census).

Patchem

Thank you so much ---------apart from the actual marriage certs for Sarah s two marriages ---and certs for the first two Doyle ( Gillett) girls -- with father unknown ------the remaining two girls and William -- are proper certs with Joseph showing it seems that all before that is speculation -------

--Not helped by a mass of Harrisons ( at Denton ) who were all hatters

-------it is a nightmare

Have not even found Ellen s surname

Am almost at the stage -- or writing in Unknown -- against Josephs partner lol

Thanks for looking

I was going to suggest getting William Harrison's, (Dukinfield, 1846) birth certificate, but there are several possible births for him. (To try and find more information about Ellen)
Harrison is just an extremely common name. I was trying to find gamekeepers but not having much luck.
Sorry.

Thanks for responding

It is possible of course that William married another Ellen and vice versa ---

I have marriage certs for Sarah Harrison --- but have never been able to find with any real conviction her birth a GRO reference --

- I have seen the Baptisms records ( those that are transcribed ) at Denton and she is not shown ---some other trees show different parents for her --- but that Sarah Harrison is shown as dying at aged 6 -- with those parents ---

This family have been driving me crazy ---Sarah married twice -- but had daughters with with my Rellie --- naming them after her dead husband -- before marrying my Rellie

Therefore they had a bunch of children all with different surnames -- which they listed either with one ot the other -- as the mood took them

William is believed to be a grandson !!!

also just to keep the muddle going all these grandchildren suddenly appear --

Is it possible that this is a second marriage for either of them?
(Have you got birth certificates for any of the children?)
Thanks
