Thank you everyone for your valuable input.
The only information I have is this date of birth given to me by his brother (he is certain that it is correct).
His brother lost touch with him ± 28 years ago.
I am going to order the death certificate and hope it's the correct one.
Thanks again.

If you have his date of birth from another source then the death you have found is a good match:

Brian Williams
Birth Date: 14 May 1951
Death Registration Month/Year: Apr 2002
Age at death (estimated): 50
Registration district: Bristol
Inferred County: Gloucestershire
Register number: G25C
District and Subdistrict: 3011G
Entry Number: 284

If you're not sure of his date of birth then there may be other deaths that would be a better match.

What other info do you have on this chap?

If you have Brian's birth certificate and the date of birth given on the death matches there is a good chance that it is the correct person. The only way to know for sure is to buy the death certificate.

Hello, you could contact the Crematrium in Bristol to see if it was there and maybe the informant is related.

Good luck MFM

as you know the date and place of death you can apply to the local authorities for a copy of the will - if there was one - costs about £10

Hi there,
Brian John Williams was born 14 May 1951.
I have found that he passed away Apr 2002.
Death registered in Bristol - Reg. No. G25C Entry No. 284
I would like to know if he was buried or cremated.
If buried, where is his grave?
How can I confirm that it is the Brian Williams I am looking for?
How will I find out if there was a Will for this person?
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Peter
