No, sorry the marriage cert 17.1.1925 of Florence Selina Cook and William Edward Townshend only shows her father's name as Albert James Cook. I know this Florence's maiden name but it's her mother's maiden name I am looking for. (She is also a Florence) Sorry if I did not make it clear. Tina

I have got stuck trying to find my grandmother - Florence Cook's (1903)parents' details. I know her mother was also a Florence Cook but cannot find her maiden name. Florence Cook 1903 was married to William Townshend on 17.1.1925 and her father is shown as Albert James Cook. The 1911 census, however, shows his name as James with children: James, Florence (1903), Edward, Henry, Elizabeth, Sidney & Hilda. All born in south London. I cannot find birth registry for any of them. If there was one more child born, it would provide maiden name, because Hilda was born in 1911 just before mothers' names was recorded, so the next child would have this info. I would be grateful if you could suggest something that might help my research. Also the father Albert James (or just James) can't definitely find him, although on 1871 census I did find one born in 1869, with a sister Selina - maybe this is him and he called his first daughter Florence Selina??

Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
