Hiya everyone i just want to ask you all the following questions. I have tried finding the marriage between my grand parents Ernest James Brown to a May Mills supposedly 1903 either in Nottingham Wymeswold or maybe Oldbury, as my Grandfather was born there.....They state on the 1911 census that they have been married for 8 years........ i have looked everywhere for this info and cannot find it. Ernest James Brown was married to a Rose Blackshaw (1900) but this marriage i have and she has nothing to do with our family apart from being Ernest's first wife and i got the name of Ernests father John off their marriage certificate....
I have the same problems for my grt grt grand parents Sarah Pushee nee Jones and John Pushee possibly between 1869 - 1873 . They are from London middlesex/Spitalfields/Holborn /Tower Hamlets area. John Pushee was married to a Hannah Burdin but she died, My grt gan is Sarah Pushee and John Pushee's daughter which is seen on my grt grans christening record. Her name is Rosetta Florence Pushee b1879.
I have platinum here on Genes and gold on Ancestry yet i still cannot find it and i've been looking for months and months now..................Should i assume they weren't married???
Also i have birth certificates (bc) so i have the correct names. My grt Gran was May Mills on my grandads bc yet i cannot find a May Mills born in Wymeswold so i am guessing she either wasn't named May Mills at birth or wasn't born in Wymeswold even tho she said she was on the 1901 (servant in Barrow upon Soar) and 1911 (Basford Nottingham) census........and now i cannot find her parents.
If anyone has any ideas what i could do i would love to hear them. My family have no clue as i have asked them. Also we believe she remarried at some point possibly to someone called Fred Lilly??? as she was known as Grandma lilly. The really strange thing is no one remembers my grt grandfather Ernest Brown, my Dad, aunts and uncle only remember her living with an 'Uncle Fred' Possibly remarried Fred around 1920's-30's...that's if she did marry him? No one knows for sure.
Thanks many regards Rosina
