Hello Marian, well, while you're here is there anything we can help you with? :-)

Hello Robert, although Ive been a member for some time I still haven't got the hang of this site. I only go on once or twice a week and it seems to change all the time. Ive only notice the addition to this thread but unfortunately your ancestors do not match mine. It is the Layfield connection I am interested in but Leah is not related to mine. One of my Layfields went to Canada and I thought Leah might have gone to the same place, but didnt. Good luck in your search.

Hi Robert,

You can also try putting the names you are researching into the Search Trees box above to see if anyone else has them in their tree.

If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner.

Also, if you would like help with your research, why not start a thread of your own as there are plenty of people willing to help you? Take a look at the Help clinic - above left - for further advice. Cx

Hello Robert, it's over a year since the last entry on this thread so Marian may not be checking back. You could click on her name to send a message directly to her which she'll receive if she's kept her GR account up to date.

Although only tenderfooting my efforts family info does vary slightly to that posted above. If you are still researching not wish to tread on toes but would like to know of any connections you/us?

MargaretM Report 1 Mar 2011 20:13

A tree on Ancestry says that her parents were Robert Layfield and Tabitha Daniels so Uncle Dan Daniels makes sense.

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 1 Mar 2011 20:03

There's a Dan Daniels on the 1930 US census living at 910 San Vincente Blvd. He's 65 born England, emigrated 1887. His wife is Cora, 58, born Ohio.

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 1 Mar 2011 19:53

On the passenger list going to New York she gives name of nearest relative as cousin A. Layfield, Dew Lane, Ormsby. Middlesburgh. Says she's going to uncle D. Daniels, 910 San Vincente Blvd., Santa Monica, California.
p.s. I know Ormesby and Middlesbrough are spelled wrong, I just copied what was written.

There is a Leah Layfield born 1884 sailing from Southampton going to New York in 1939. This is on FMP and the only info I have. Could someone check the details and also to see who she is travelling with etc.
Thanks
