What is Clara's exact birthdate?
If she did marry again, with Alfred just 'assuming' she were dead, then this could be her death:
Clara Lambert
Birth Date: 7 Apr 1899
Death Registration Month/Year: Jan 1993
Age at death (estimated): 93
Registration district: Hammersmith
Inferred County: London
Register number: 3C
District and Subdistrict: 2311C
Entry Number: 8
which is why I asked for exact birth date.

There are probably some others out there. also.

Alternatively, died in war and never properly identified.

Information is helpful.Some of it we already have but new avenues now open.
We were under the impression Clara had died because Alfred remarried in May 1944 in Islington and claimed to be a widower on his marriage certificate.

Might she have remarried?

Felgate Clara Lambert Samford 4b 2080
Lambert Albert Felgate Samford 4b 2080

Clara's name is alternately registered as Lambert and Morris.

The district Samford is in the county of Suffolk

We are trying to find any information on grandmother.
Clara Elizabeth Felgate( nee Marsh) born 1899,Census 1911, says born Northampton but Family orginally located in Bucks area.
Clara married Alfred Raines Felgate in Islington on24th June 1922.
My father Cyril Alfred was born July 1922.in Islington.
The marriage broke up sometime in 1931 and my Dad lost touch with his mum. After the war when he came out of service he tried until his death in 2007 to find some trace of her.
We have been searching records for some sign since Dad died but can find no trace of his Mum.
Any information or assistance would be gratefully accepted as we are having no luck in tracing.
