Hi

My great grandfather Thomas Richardson was born in 22/7/1886 to Thomas and Cecilia in Lambeth area.

His father also Thomas Richardson was born in Easthampstead Berks per the 1891 & 1911 census records. Thomas & Cecilia were living in Brixton (Lambeth) in both these census. The 1891 census record shows his age as 38 and the 1911 census shows it as 56 (I havent seen original entry though, I wonder if it said that or 58?)

I looked in the 1881 census and found a Thomas Richardson from Easthampstead as a visitor in Easthampstead aged 30 giving a different birth year.

I wonder if anyone could help, I am trying to find a census record that shows his parents and/or a birth reference for him. I am struggling as Thomas Richardson is a common name and I have 1850 to 1855 as possible birth years for him

The original 1911 census says thomas 56 = 1855. born Berks a gardener.
Cecelia 1862 Kelling Norwich

I think Thomas must have been born in 1851 as there is this census for him and parents and siblings,,,,on the image it says for his age,,MO think that will mean a month old...

Not seeing a marriage of Thomas Richardson to a Cecilia. Thomas is likely to have been previously married, and maybe also Cecilia was.

I would suggest you get the birth cert of Emily to at least confirm the names of Cecilia.

2nd marriage for Mary Ann richardson,,,,Thomas's mother.

Wow I've got up to lots of info and lots to check out.

I have previously looked for Thomas vs Cecilia (Lubbock) marriage to no avail (see recent Lubbock thread) even though 1911 census states they had been married 26yrs. Cecilia not previously married.

I hadnt thought of your suggestion of him being previously married but it seems quite apossibility now especially as he is also at 10-14 years older than Cecilia. Ooh I wonder if there is another family to find. Very interesting thought.

Regarding the 1881 census yes, that is the one I found. I wondered if the guy he was visiting was a relative due to age of person he was visiting, but that is a question that may/may not get answered as I get further with Thomas.

I don't think the marriage in 1883 in hexham northumberland is correct as that Cecelia was born 1863 in Hexham.
1911 clearly says born Kelling Norwich.

Have you ruled Cecelia Lubbock 1863 from Kelling out?
