Both Eliza and Fanny are listed as domestics which would match their 1901 census occupations but Fanny goes to Canada a lot later than Eliza and we still can't find her in the 1911 census?????

Have just found a Fanny Ogden, died 1936 age 73, maybe thats her. no sign of her or her sister on 1911, or maybe her and her sister moved away from london for a while. Thanks for your help.

Here's one for Fanny in 1908? Perhaps she went first and Eliza stayed to look after father???

Will wait for your comments about them staying in England or not.

What about this?

Deaths Mar 1951 (78%)
OGDEN Eliza 92 Wandsworth 5d 956

The age given is either correct or only how old the informant thinks the person is and this, based on 1857, is only a couple of years out?

Len

Len Report 28 Jan 2011 01:53

Many thank Lynne you have thrown open a whole new door with Canada, but it could well be, just never thought of them leaving the country. The Wandsworth for Eliza one also matches. think I will have to get D/Cs for both to see if they match. If not it looks like they went to Canada. If so I hope it worked out for them.

I'd say that that was your Fanny. She makes several trips back and forth to England-going to various addresses in Lower Clapton.
For example:
Name: Miss Fanny Ogden
Gender: Female
Estimated birth year: abt 1862
Birth Place: London, England
Age: 62
Date of Arrival: 18 Oct 1924
Port of Arrival: Quebec
Port of Departure: London, England
Ship Name: Andania

Says she's lived in Toronto since 1904. She seems to be involved with the Salvation Army.
Was in England to visit her sister Eliza Ogden of 128 Clarence? Rd Lower Clapton.

Sorry,I can't spot her in 1911 though.

Just to add that our Lorraine of the USA/Canada look ups seems to have found Fanny (Fannie Ogden) in 1911.....in Winnipeg. Go figure. It really does look like her-age is off,but the Salvation Army link makes her the same person in my opinion.

I wonder what records the SArmy have kept????

I think this is the same person, I am surprised how much traveling back and forth she did only being a domestic.
