How can I find out what has happened to them since the last available USA census in 1930.

Knowing they were at that time in Peoria Illinois is there some local association or newspaper I could enlist help from ? Did they become USA citizens?

Why is Clara's surname 'Croft' if her parents are 'Holt'?

Or am I getting confused!

Have found photo dated 1920 showing Clara E Croft aged 3yrs 4 months in USA.

She was my mothers cousin. It appears her family emigrated sometime after 1911 from Heywood , Lancs sometime after that census.

Her parents were:

John Holt born 1878 in Heywood
Mary Elizabeth Holt (nee Pickard) born 1878 Sheffield , Yorks
also an elder brother James Holt born 1907 in Heywood.

Any ideas how I can research them after they went to USA.
