Hi,

I am looking for the whereaboust of LOUISA ATKINSON born 1869, St Pancras London on the 1911 Census. I have found her husband who is an inmate at Pentonville and 3 of their children are living in islington.
Louisa did not die until 1950, she seems to have gone missing.
Would appreciate some help, thanks

Can you give more information such as marriage details and have you found her in the 1901 census? This would really help.

You say that Louisa did not die until 1950. Where did she die and was she still Louisa Atkinson?

What was Louisa's maiden name?

Wendy

Wendy Report 14 Jan 2011 10:52

Louisa's maiden name was Mills, marieceleste that is the correct death for her.

Also, although have found her husband on 1911 in Pentonville, does anyone know where I can find any prison records? Thanks

On the original image there is Violet 10, Mary 8, John 4 and Lily 2. Then there is a William 4 months and Benjamin 5 months. They are obviously not all from the same family but all have 'not known' as their birth location.
May not be your Violet of course.

Hi Astra,

Thanks for that info, I do think they are all louisa's children as my Great grandmother was lilian born in 1908, so this could be Lily on the original image. Just so confused about where Louisa (snr) could be? Thanks for your help

Is it possible that Louisa is also in prison. It could be the reason why all of the younger children are in care. I can't find her in prison or anywhere else but it is a thought. She could also have just moved in with another man and changed her name to his. What else do you know about her? Every little thing can be of help. What details are given on her death certificate?

Wendy

Wendy Report 14 Jan 2011 15:55

I know that when my great grandmother was born in 1908 they were living at 16 Aberdeen Place, Brewery road, Islington. Her maiden name was Mills, could she have gone back to this for a while? She died 22nd Jan 1950 aged 80 as is buried at Islington cemetary. That is all I know :)

Did she marry George?

The prison records for the years in question for Pentonville seem to be held at the National Archives so I think that should be your next port of call.
