After finding details from help given I can confirm that Ernest is Edith's brother, or very likely to be so would make sense of living nearby! |

I don't see Ernest on the 1901 or 1891 census with a father George! There are a couple of possible Ernests born in Brighton around the correct time but fathers are Alfred and Albert |
