Thank you all so much. It is spelt Lewis, but was spelt wrongly on he census record. and the swarbrick/taylor marriage is correct. Their son Lewis was in the Navy, my aunt remembers them both coming to PLymouth when she was young. I am hoping that some of the familymebes still living may have photos or details of my grandad, as we have none at all. |

Thank you all for your help. I have spoken to my aunty Gwynneth, who remembers Lewis, but I cannot find any trace of him after the 1901 census. However, he was still around in the 1940's as she remembers him coming to PLymouth...at least she thinks it was him. Thinks he had a son in the Navy! I think the boundaries must have moved over the years, as Lostock Hall is now in Preston, not Bolton. All assistance gratefully received. |

Haven't found the family on 1911 yet, but all children were still single in 1901. You could try tracing subsequent marriages for them. William is still single in 1911, think this is him: |

Joseph Swarbrick was born in Bolton (or Lewstock, Bolton) in 1851. He was married to Jane and they had 7 children, including my grandfather Joseph (c1887 - c1947). My Gran Catherine and Joe got divorced and she destroyed anything to do with him, so I am hoping to find someone who has family links with them.... |
