The age in the 1911 census is indeed mis-transcribed for Thomas his date of birth is 1854 if you look at the census write up it is definitely 57. Delboy1978 I definitely know her maiden name was james as I have her son my ggreat grandfathers Evan Theophilus Griffiths birth certificate where it states James as her surname. patchem I do believe the child you mentioned is from a previous marriage and you definitely have the correct 1901 census. Thanks **Ann** for this information so it was Pontypridd so it's possible they got married in Pontypridd so I could visit the Pontypridd Registry office and ask.

If I posted the correct family in 1901 then the eldest son was born in 1877/1878, so the marriage is wrong, or she is his second wife.

Pontypridd is in Glamorgan rather than Monmouthshire. Norton Bridge is a
district in Pontypridd, also known as Pont Sion Norton. Presumably a chap
called John Norton built a bridge, presumably over the river Taff or a
tributary. Norton Bridge is on the east bank of the Taff, north-east of the
centre of Pontypridd, a little south of Cilfynydd and north of Coedpenmaen.

A Google maps search for Norton bridge, Pontypridd finds a bus stop outside
Norton Bridge Methodist Chapel, in Pontshonnorton Road.

Maesycoed Road,Pontypridd seems to be west of the centre of Ponty, on the
southern slope of the Rhondda valley, near the Sardis Road rugby ground.

If in doubt, try several mapping sites. I started to have doubts about
Multimap when it gave me directions to turn right off the M4 between
junctions

Hello everyone I wonder if I could ask for your help once more on another branch of my family. I am trying to find the marriage record for my gggreat grandparents Thomas Griffiths and Elizabeth James. I have found them in the 1911 census which states that they have been married for 25 years so they must have married between 1885 and 1887 I have searched countless times for their marriage but cannot find it anywhere.

The First child I know of was elizabeth h griffiths who was born in 1887 in Norton Bridge, Glamorgan, Wales as stated on earlier census's I do not know however where Norton Bridge is. I would imagine they got married somewhere in Pontypridd but do not know where to start please HELP!!
