I think the word widow was crossed out on the 1841 census because they weren't supposed to give marital status on that census, |

The only problem, Jackie, is that you will never know who your Joseph's father was, if she was a widow in 1841 and he was born 1851! |

Thank you Vera and Margaret for all of your help, I can now fill in some gaps. You are both magic I had looked for hours but am reasonably new to this game, and only have the census records and google as my search paths. So thank you very much. |

Yes it was, thats amazing, I wonder if Suzanah Swinston was Marys mother , as that was her daughters name too. This is getting so exciting. I read John at the bottom as a 7 year old?? and couldnt read the other!! |
