I have found a Norman Bradford who received a bravery medal in 1940. Service number is 1466060 and he was a Gunner (would have been early on in his army career I believe).

Does anyone know where I can search this service number to try and confirm if it is the Norman I am looking for?
Thanks

Thank you for all your help so far!

I don't know their actual birthdates, just that William was born in 1917 and Norman born in 1919.

Middlenames? Nana (Ruby) didn't have one, or she just neglected to use it once she got to New Zealand. I am not sure on her brothers but assume not, as the one brother I can trace did not have a middlename.

It could be a good match, Norman heading to New York, but he was in Germany a year later getting married .... maybe they sent the soldiers to some "super re-gain your health" facility!!

Amanda :-)

Do you have any exact DOBs for the two of them? Also any middle intitals would help if they had any?

Have looked for them here, John Bradford is their nephew, he has also looked but not found much more than what knowledge I have (from my understanding) - he hasn't heard from/about them in over 40years. William is/was possibly in London - Norman I'm not too sure about. I have heard one of the brothers went onto Palestine with the army after WW2 - assuming it's Norman.
Thanks

Have you looked for them on this site?
What country do you think they might be in now?
Thanks

Hi, am trying to find my grandmothers older brothers: William Bradford, born 1917 and Norman Bradford born 1919 (both born in Camlachie, Lanark Glasgow) Have various bits of info on them:

Parents: William John Bradford and Susan Little Macfarlane (divorced, Susan later married Cyril Harris and had a daughter, Heather in 1937)

William, married Joan Weller and had 2 children, Billy and Joanna. Was in the ArmyWW2

Norman, married Gloria Whitworth 1946 in Luneburg, Germany (army officerWW2, also known as Jock)

My grandmother's name is Ruby (moved over here to New Zealand in 1948) and had very little or no contact with her brothers once she had left.

One other brother, Duncan, born 1915 (i have found his son John, so Duncan is not lost!!)

If anyone knows of anyone in particular who may fit into the family I would appreciate your help!
