Not necessarily Scotland....... my maiden name was Sinclair my dad was born in Deptford.

I think the answer would be to get the marriage certificate...as has been suggested.
With fathers names and occupations you can hopefully get the info you are after.

I thought I saw a reference to Newton Abbot but it says Tavistock in the 1911 census?

Ref Lindsey....the one I found in 1881 is not correct as she is still single in 1891.

Yes thats the family. I hacve them married in 1885 in Plymouth so I was hoping they were with their families prior. I think Jessie Brock came from Newton Abbot.
