There is this death in NSW:

17279/1960 BUTTERWORTH WILLIAM EDWARD [father] JOHN [mother] MARY ANN [district] PARKES

No marriage found.

Fits with an application for WWI for William Edward BUTTERWORTH, of Trundle, which is 65km northwest of Parkes! He was aged 35 in 1917, which also fits.

He is buried at Parkes Cemetery:
Last Name Butterworth
First Name William
Middle Name 1 Edward
Middle Name 2 Will
Gender M
Occupation
Religion
Cause of Death
Former Residence
Birthplace
Age 79 years
Date of Birth
Date of Death 12 April 1960
Burial Date
Cemetery Parkes Town Cemetery
Section Anglican (Old) Row EN Plot No 5

So this seems a very good match!!!

Do you know when he went to Australia?

If this is him, he was still in England in 1911 and it looks as if his mother died and father re-married.

Hi

I am trying to find out more info about the above person. He was born in Etton, Northants, and due to ill health moved to Australia. I know he lived many years in australia, but I dont know if he had any kind of family there.
His parents were John Butterworth and Mary Cook.
Also, any info re the family is welcome
