could I get some help with this please.

James Purcell married Mary Woodhouse in 1857 at Sculcoates

He was born in Ireland and she was born in Hull. I can't find them together

on any GR census, they had 6 children all born in Yorkshire.

Many thanks Barbara

Tkank you Dee.

I did have James as Middlesex then thought I had found info on him coming from Ireland.

His father David and Grandfather Thomas are they from Ireland?

I would appreciate any information you could give me on them and their families

Thank you Dee . Sue and Flick. There seems to be quite a gap between
James and Elizabeth . There is a discrepancy between 1841 and1851.
David is born in both Ireland and Middlesex, I wonder which is correct.

Regards
Barbara

Your remark about the age gap set me thinking...........

Could Mary be David's second wife?

Could indeed, Dee, probably is!........

I'd picked up on the stated birthplace for Mary in 1851.................probably sheer coincidence!

Oh, if only we had a time machine!

BatMansDaughter

BatMansDaughter Report 18 Nov 2010 16:39

Flick,

I think if we had a time machine poor Barbara would be left by herself here and we would be searching for our own elusive ancestors...... the ones that can't even be found by the starry peeps.

Flick are all those christenings siblings? Confusing when they use a name twice. Thanks to you all for the information. Should I flip a coin to decide Davids birthplace.
I would love to travel back in time and be a fly on the wall to see how everyone lived and zoom down to check on letters and notes so I had everyone in the right place on my tree.

Dream on , Barbara

Flick

Flick Report 22 Nov 2010 12:27

They are probably siblings...but one can't be 100% sure.

Where the names are repeated, you will see (I hope) that I have given you the death dates for the first ones to have been given the name.
