FannyByGaslight Report 27 Nov 2010 11:21

FMP dont transcribe occupations or exact birth places, just county on 1871,so image has to be looked at,but he is labourer, and remains so as far as I can tell, never down as a coal miner/collier.

Sarah is wife ...Ellen is daughter on 1871,what you on about Ellen?

Sarah is a widow on 1891 and living with son Robert and family on 1891.

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 27 Nov 2010 11:19

I honestly dont think its that one Gins,I think its the one with the Damms on 1871 and as a servant on 1881.
Dont ask why, just a gut feeling...

Where is his birth?
John William Greaves...I cant find one to suit..

Gee

Gee Report 27 Nov 2010 11:17

I thought it might be but the census I posted defo says Ellen and there are no occupations listed for any of them except the father Robert?

Thats why I posted it. Have you looked at the census on FMP Fans...whats it say?

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 27 Nov 2010 11:12

Thats the same one I posted earlier of 1881.

That Derek had a look at and we honestly dont think its him cos he follows through on census as on 1891 being married to Lizzie Kay and living with her parents?

Gee

I really dont know where to go on this one now Jean, but if he is NOT that one with father Robert Agri Lab,and I dont really feel he is,and after checking out most everyone else it seems to only leave that one who is a lodger on 1871 and servant on 1881 as then he goes missing and yours appears..

Mary certainly could be a relative of his, mother, aunt or some other, who knows.
I have been trying to find a baptism for that Holmsfield one ,but no luck.
Also asked someone if they might take a look on here as they have Derbyshire Parish records on CD ,but as yet I dont think he has seen my message.

Jean

Jean Report 22 Nov 2010 22:10

I have contacted decendants of William greaves form holbrook Eckington and he is not my William.

Jean

Jean Report 22 Nov 2010 21:57

The only William or John I can find of the right age and birth place/s with father Robert is this one,but Robert has the wrong occupation and stays with that occupation all his life as I followed all census for him,so I dont feel it is him....
