Oops! Wrong one Aileen, sorry...... Think this is the right one though, but I think they have put a few households together...unless it's a very big house! |

Hi Cathy.....I did check that death out and it is not the Catherine Clark on the census you have mention....(apart from the 1841 which isn't the same one either).....as I have posted earlier the one on the census records you have posted had the maiden surname McDonald. |

The only real way to confirm it would be James mother's maiden name....then find her death cert.....which should give this. |

This is what i am hopeing after twelve years this is as far as i have got. it is so frustrating when all someone puts down is scotland or ireland. Then as stated earlier on 1911 census he finally puts Argyl. I dont know where to go from here and i know im clutching at straws, but its all i have to go on. |

1881 census.......although the naming doesn't fit the traditional Scottish naming pattern both Catherine and John are used as childrens names making it a good possibility that the above James Clark is the same one as this census |

Not much mark except i was told james was from argyll and it wasnt until the 1911 census he finally puts down argyll and not just scotland. I suppose im hopeing as i have been researching him for over twelve years. |

I am desparately trying to connect my grt grandfather james clark 1845-7 scotland to a family in Appin, Argylshire. He states his father is a john clark, slate quarry worker. There is a family in Appin and the head is a john clark, slate quarry worker. |
