don't forget that the information given on a death certificate is that which is known to the informant


You do not have to provide any documentation to prove the information ..... other than the oen provided by the doctor regarding the cause of death.


SO ........... it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that the informant, for some reason, believed that 8 December was her birthday.


Could there have been a reason to celebrate her birthday on a date other than the actual day?




My grandfather always celebrated his birthday on December 25. Everyone had to go to his house for a short visit on Christmas morning

It wasn't until after he died that we discovered he had actually been born on January 9 of the following year!

................... almost 3 weeks later than the family believed.


I've come to think that it might have been his parents wanting to save money on presents.

Alot of people back then probably said all kinds about when and where they were born.
Your story is very confusing though i bet for anyne doing the family tree searching for your Grandfather.
I dont know anything about Ada so i cant say as to what you asked me.

Have you tried search trees on this site - there is a Harvey Defriend who has Ada Holloway b 1886 Greenwich in his tree - I have checked there was only one Ada born in Greenwich that year.
