Find Ancestors

I wonder if any you lovely people could please help me find the name of my Gt x 4 Grandmother.
My Gt x 3 Grandfather was John Cuff born 1805-1811 Rye (different ages on Census records!). He was a Shipwright, married Susanna Ailsworth 28/9/1845 Rye. On the marriage certificate his father was Christopher Cuff, born in Rye, also a Shipwright. But I am unable to find who John's mother was. Would be grateful for any help.

It isn't certain but there is a good chance that his middle name could be his mother's maiden name.

Could be Mel, but on the marriage certificate his name is John Cuff (no middle name) and age just given as "Full Age"! His age on a couple of census records give a birth date of c1809 to 1811.

They did'nt always use middle names.

Machin could have been his father mothers maiden name.
