Hi,
I'm looking for a George Dogget b 1899 Birmingham in Warwickshire. In 1901 he was living in Aston in Warwickshire.
By 1911 I believe his father George had died and his mother Isabella (born Scotland around 1874) was re married to a Taverner - possibly in the Toxteth area of Liverpool (this is all unconfirmed) so I thought it easier to try to track down George jnr aged 11yrs in 1911.

I cannot find marriage certificate for George Doggett and Isabella McWhinnie. Think they married in Scotland, would BDM cover Scotland?

you need to look at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for the marriage in Scotland, it works by buying credits (no subscription is available), but you can view the certs online

plus it will hopefully give you the parents names for George and Isabel as Scottish certs are more detailed than those in England and Wales

p.s. there is a marriage in 1894 in Gorbals Glasgow City that looks interesting :-D

I thought you might like more on Isabella McWhinnie. Her Father Robert McWhinnie was born in Ireland about 1844 He married Catherine no surname. in Airdrie Scotland.They had 5 children William 1870 Helen 1872 Agnes 1874 Isabella 1876 Catherine 1879 . In 1881 they lived at 84 Bell St New Monkland Airdrie. In 1891 Living at 120 High St Airdrie two more children Jane 1882 Robert 1888. Robert Senior was a tinsmith. Isabella married George Doggett. In 1901 they were living at 178 Nimble (or Thimble) Mill Lane Aston. George was 2 years older than Isabella. George was born in Norton B'ham. They had 2 children George 1 year Isabella 6 days at the time of the Cencus.They moved to Toxteth Park. 2 more children Margaret Isabel 1906 and Mary 1908. George died in 1909 age 36yrs. Isabella then married James Henry Taverner in 1914 They had a son Alfred H Taverner.(I am his daughter Catherine he died in 1938) Isabell died in 1919. I have met a Dennis Doggett in 2009 at a singing festival in Waterloo Liverpool but haven't see him for some time. If you know of him please let me know. I just long to see a photo of my Grand parents!!!' He mentioned that his wife might have some. I also gave him a writen family tree.Regards Catherine Rowe

Thank you for all the information, I think we had contact a while ago, my great grandparents are George Doggett and Isabella McWhinnie. I cannot find a marriage certificate for them though. I have no information on their two youngest children, Margaret or Mary. Unfortunately I have no photographs of George or Isabella, but like you, would be very interested to have one of my gg grandparents. I have got the marriage certificate of Isabella's second marriage to James Taverner, I had to get this as I could not decipher her surname on George's birth certificate. I do not know Dennis Doggett I am afraid.
