The 1871 census you have listed shows my g grandmother's siblings and yes I was aware that Robert was a vet. It is so easy to go down the wrong route and thanks to people like you for picking up those mistakes.!!!!

Look at the occupations also. Robert was a veterinary surgeon. Unlikely he'd marry the daughter of a horse hair weaver.

James Law was a farrier.

I know it says she's born Southwark in 1851 but have you seen the 1861 census? Robert's wife is listed as Ellen D (probably a mistake because there's no death or remarriage for Robert) but she's born Bloomsbury. This makes more sense and matches the Bloomsbury birth I listed.

I think that I will have to accept that only Elizabeth and Maria were sisters and leave Emma out of the equation. It would seem that you are unable to find William Charles and Elizabeth Law on 1841 census, in which case they were probably dead as I would presume that they must have been born C1780-90..

Thank you all for your replies. The Elizabeth born in Camden is not the one. My Elizabeth was born 12/01/1814.
I have no way of tracing the age of parents (William and Elizabeth) and thought that 1841 census may reveal their ages and birthplace. Could not find their marriage so thank you for providing her maiden name Williams. I thought that if they could be found on 1841 census it would prove that Maria Sara and Emma were sisters. I found Elizabeth, Maria and Emma on family search Beta they were all christened at St Mary's Newington of parents Wiliam and Elizabeth Law.
