Hello,
I am still looking for anyone with any kind of information on a family brand/tattoo. Does anyone have a family member that would have done this? Was it a common practice to tattoo your family crest on your arm?

Any ideas?

PM

Wonder who Peter Howarths first wife was then? He has kids born in1874, 1876, 1877, 18821884 and 1890. If he married Sarah Garner, which would explain the child named Garner in the census, who did he marry to sire the other children?
Any ideas where I can look?
Thanks Deborah

Yes, I am really quite interested in the family brand on his wrist, just wondered if anyone out there knew anything about the practice of putting a family brand on your wrist?
I have traced Samuel and Elizabeth through the family Bible, however, I want to know more.... What was Par Pemberton for instance? What did they do there? Was it a factory? Books dealers??
Samuels dob was April-June 1882. He worked at Gorton Tank....his wife was Elizabeth Ann Thompstone.
Any information on their parents that I have is very limited.Father was Peter howarth, wife Sarh (last name unknown)c 1851-52.I would love to have more information about the other children of Peter and Sarah....Mary, Thomas ,Elizabeth,Peter and Ethel.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on my great grandfather , Samuel Howarth, who had a family brand on his arm. (left wrist)
Family members still living, remember the marking on him, but can't remember anything about it...only that it was a 'family brand'.
Does anyone have any information on what it could have been, was the practice common in the times?
They lived most of their married life at 74 Hart Road,Fallowfield.
Samuel was from Gorton, Manchester and my great gran Elizabeth Ann Howarth, worked for Par Pemberton. Thanks for any help....Deborah
