That is my family. There are several Trees on Rootsweb for this family and it says they had a daughter in 1862 in Indiana. I am sure that they appear on both the 1861 and 1871 uk census but I will have to check. They cant be in two places at once.

PS for information I have also put up a thread for ships passenger list to try and help with this problem over whether they did or did not go to America.

I have a Susannah Coote born in Hampshire and lived all her life there, have her bmd so I know she did ....yet thi person in America, says she went to America came back and married then went back....
she must have been loaded....lol
perhaps Making Straw Hats and straw weaving were better jobs than we thought!....lol

That census would definately mean that they were in England in 1860 asWiliam Tate was born in Lincolnshire then. Also Tas Tate was born 1863 . She couldnt have been pregnant with two children in different countries at one time.

The 1861 shows Sarah with her parents and Sarah Ann Cook I believe is James and ann's Grandaughter.

That has convinced me that they didnt go to America.
