Just nipped out to wash the car whilst the weather still holds.

That's ok, you probably put it into the space for surnames... unfortunately though this would only show when doing a search for the surname Brigden, we got there though.


If the marriage certificate does show the father as William or William George then I think we can presume that Thomas J was the younger brother to Mary, Emily and William Henry, so maybe ordering Emily's birth certificate would give the mothers (Ann) maiden name;

I'm so pleased that it all fits, just wish I could definitely identify William George on census for you. Just out of interest who were the witnesses on Thomas's marriage certificate?

Are you considering ordering the birth certificate for his sister Emily? This maybe the only way to give their mother Ann a maiden name.... it may also help in tracing a marriage for them or maybe even a 2nd marriage for Ann (presuming William died??).
