Poor you, as Williams is one of the most common surname in UK. You could try contacting Ellesemere reg office and explain your dilemma and ask for a check on father's name. I have done this many times and most are very helpful including Ellesmere when I was looking for a marriage. |

Just had a look and it could be either I know Thomas was Baptised on 18 Jan 1852 in Penley so he could have been born in June or December |

The only Penley i know of is near Wrexham which is on the Denbighshire/Flintshire border. |

Penley at that time was in Ellesmere Reg District so you need to search for a birth there , a cert will give mother's name |

Could anyone help Iam trying to find the mother of Thomas Williams born in Penley He was Christened in Penley on 18 Jan 1852 His Father was James William Williams and his mother Martha ? I think James was Blacksmith at one time |
