I think they changed the name over that generation. I knew my gran as a skilton. I couldn't work out which Annie it was either!
Its a shame my mum isn't around to ask her about her grandmother.

The problem with Annie is we don't know if it's Annie May or Annie Elsie.......... I've come across this so I'll see what else I can find;

Annie was born in West Ham as well.

I assume about 1898 I have a bit about her family from 1901 census.

I don't have any certificates.

When was Annie born, we may find her death and find Thomas's in the same vicinity.

Have you got his marriage cert? Is that where you got his DOB from? His father's name and occupation should be on the cert which will help in tracing him with his family.

Thomas's marriage certificate should give his father's name and occupation (if course Thomas knew).

Had Annie been married before - I don't see any Skelton births with MMN Yeoman?

I have found out that my grandmothers fathers name was Thomas Skelton (1898). he married Annie Yeoman. I have looked at birth certficatesa dn 1901 census but there are many Thomas Skeltons born around the same year. HIs father could be William (1861) again there are many options! Apart from getting birth certificates can anyone help me as I don't want to go any further with that branch if I get the wrong one!!
