Thank you Julian so much for all the information on the "Piggin" Family. It is all very interesting and exciting. I have sent you a reply about the Ling Family and I hope you find that interesting too. |

I am related to this same family; and there was a bit of excitement when Elizabeth's father John died, leaving significant estate. NB the Colman mentioned in here is a member of the Colman's Mustard family; the families were connected by marriage. |

Thank you Ozibird, I appreciate very much the information you have found. I was told as a child there was a big "Estate" or an "Estate" which was wound up at some stage, I don't know what year - one of my Great Grandmother's brother's went to England (Norwich?) to see about it. |

No luck with Jeremiah at all. Have you found him entering Australia? |

Ozibird, Not sure now whether I have been through all the Census after 1841, I know Jeremiah was in Australia in Sept. 1885. |

Thanks, Christine, for the information about ages being rounded down on 1841 census. |

Thanks, Ozibird, I have seen the 1841 census. I'm not sure about the Occupation weaver though, on his death certificate it has Decorator, although I have seen, Guilder, Carver, also "Gentleman". |

Ages on the 1841 were rounded down so anyone aged between 24 and 20 would show as 20 years old. |

Please read the thread that is stickied at the top of this page, from Genes, on how to use this board. It states that there are 'volunteer researchers'. That means they are human beings, not automated machines, and as such, deserve some manners, such as please and thank you. This applies to both threads you have on this board. |

Jeremiah Ling was born in Jan. 1820, I first thought John and Jeremiah were twins but they weren't. John was born in 1817 apparently. |
