Sarah J Brearly 35

It states that they both emigrated in 1881,But that they didn't marry untill 1886, So maybe did not travel over together.

Is it possible that 'your' John had a son John and thats who married Sarah in 1886?

Hi Margaret,
Sorry I hadn't seen your reply untill now.
You said that you believe John was born c1825 and Sarah 1866, What reationship are they to each other? I assumed husband/wife but thats a 41 year age gap - Not unheard of I know (I have it in mytree) but unusual.
Do you have year of birth for her children? Where did you access their names? and do you know where they wereborn?

Thanks Gypsy

I will take a closer look at Lynne's reply but I am not hopeful, unless these records shed light on his family. My John would have been born about 1825 so not the right generation. From marriage certificate for John's son it doesn't give much information

As I previously said either back to the drawing board or forget any thoughts of tracing them

Grateful thanks for your help

Margaret

Margaret,
Are you saying that you don't think the people in the 1910 and 1920 that Lynne has found are not 'yours'?
I think you should take another look at them, There are far too many coincidences to dissmiss in my opinion.

Hi Lynne From Up North !!

The reason I think this isn't my family is because i believe John was born in Ireland about 1825, John Breasley was the father of my gggrandfather Thomas Albert Breasley from Drumcondra Dublin. There doesn't appear to be Parish Records for this area of Dublin.

So I have to search other areas but feel I am looking for a needle in a haystack, bearing in mind that Census records were destroyed for the period I would need to look. WIth Breasley being a rare name in Dublin you would imagine it would show up somewhere.

There are hundreds of Breasleys in Australia but I have been able to locate any immigration records for the mid 1800's or convict records to link my family to anyone in Australia.

Any ideas where else I look or should I accept that I will never find a link

Grateful thanks for your time

Regards

Margaret

Hi Margaret,

Why do you think that this may not be the family that you are looking for? Was John Breasley born in Oldham? If so, then I think this could be the correct family. Have just come across a Passport application for Ethel M Brearley (as shown on Ancestry) in 1924, she too was intending to travel to the British Isles and France for travel!

Oh dear back to the drawing board!!!!!

Thanks again Lynne From Up North !!

Many thanks for this information, it is John Breasley I would like to find out more about, but I always come up against misspellings.

I will keep trying. With an unusual surname you would think it would be easy!!!

Very grateful for all your help
