Find Ancestors

I am researching the Ashcroft family. Am stuck with Nicholaswho married an Elizabeth. Nicholas died in 1860 and on 1851 was living at Bromfield. Can't find where he originated from. Can anyone help. The only one I can find was in 1841 when there was a Nicholas in Liverpool gaol.

Had a reply from Artbeat. It seems that Nicholas was probably twice in jail.
in the late 1830,s and 1841. This could be my Nicholas. Thanks to all for the help I received.
