thanks mel, il try and look into that. i had previously listed this james on my tree, putting the parents as you had found them. living on branson street, salford. but when i got his marriage certificate to annie roach , he named walter as his father which made me think i had been tracing the wrong family!!!! its a shame my nanna wasnt still aive to ask if she knew anymore about her parents.

Hello, i have previously posted in here and got some great help, especially the advice for obtaining marriage certificates.
I am now hoping for somemore advice.
I now know my great grandfather james burgess born c1899, son of walter burgess
married
Mrs Annie Roach(widow to james roach) maiden name jones born c1898. daughter of robert jones.
the got married in 1925 and was both living on bury street in salford, so im guessing thats where they met.
this is as far as i have gotten,
any further help would be great.

i would love to find out there mothers names, and if they had any brothers or sisters, and if there is anyone reading this who may be related.
