Have you looked on freebmd for possible offspring of the marriage?

If James knew his father, the name will be on James's marriage cert..........as will James's declared age at the time.

Not sure what you mean when referring to the woman born in 1837

james was the illegitimate son of eliza so father was not on birth certificate,i have just sent for marriage og james to mary hatfield,im looking for some help from the hatfield side so i can fill in some missing blanks
