It is a bit strange though for a first name? Have seen them used as middles......I bet the poor guy was sick of repeating himself!

My advise would be to obtain his birth cert.

Hi, I am really stuck on a member of my family. These are the details I have:

Ivy Charles Commander
b. 1898 in Aston, Birmingham
I have been searching for hours but can only come up with a death in 1st quarter of 1970 but the name is stated as Ivor Charles Commander. I have looked for deaths around about his birth but can't find anything. I have also looked for a marriage but am again coming up with nothing. It seems strange having a female name but the 1911 census states he is a boy.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Thank you

Suzanne
