I would be really grateful if someone with Worldwide access could take a look at the following for me:

William Myers Chippendale - US Patent and Trademark Office Patents section.

I know he was born c1810 in Yorkshire and went to the USA c1840 with a Doctor Albert Isaiah Coffin !!

I am curious to see what this Patent thing was all about as I am researching William's family.

Many thanks to anyone who can help. Cx

Hi Maureen, I clicked on the Tax, Criminal, Land and wills section and there are about 20 entries for him further down the page. Have to admit that I still have a lot to learn about Ancestry!

Hope you are well.....I'm just 'doing' the Tips boards for yesterdays non reply-ers!! Cx

unfortuantly ancestry gives search results for whole name which when you click on them are not, they just pick up some of the letters in the name which is very misleading for people who sign up and think they are going to find something on their relly .

There is a tree on Ancestry with him in.

This is attached as a storey

William Myler Chippendale was married to Sophia Woods in 1850, he probably had a previous marriage as on the 1851 census he has a son named Joseph who was born in York, England around 1837. William was a General Practitioner and on the census form under profession and rank it states Surgeons College of New York, General Practitioner.
