Hi Chris,

Whenever a baptism, marriage or burial took place at a church, a record was kept by the church and most of these records have now been deposited at the records office in the county where the church is situated. To view these records you need to visit the local Records Office in question but in the case of your Medway ancestors some of these records are online because (I think I'm right in saying) the national lottery gave some funding for the Medway records to be recorded online.
If you google the area you are interested in to see which county it is in and then google that county records office
(e.g. area, Chippenham this will be located in Wiltshire, then this will be the Wiltshire Records Office.) you can then arrange a visit to view the parish records you are interested in. (Hope I've explained this ok for you to understand, generally I'm not to good at explaining things.)

As for the birth in 1934, quite possible, as even at 48 lots of women were still gving birth.
I have had a quick look and can't see another marriage between a Day and a Flinn so it looks highly probable that this child was Albert & Mary's.

Possibility:
1911 census:

Address: Royal Marine Barracks & Hillville Barracks
Royal Marine Barracks & Hillville Hospital
Chatham Kent

Day Albert O aged 23 born I.O.W Ventnor
Royal Marine L I Private

The were 2 birth records for an Albert O Day between 1880-1890 the other Albert O was born in Wales and there is a marriage in Wales for an Albert O Day
so I think that the Royal Marine above looks like a good possibility.

Birth:
Albert Oscar Day
Dec Q 1888
I Wight
2b 640
