Hi
I am an ancestor of William Myers Chippendale. He Died 7/12/1859, I have a copy of the death certificate. He was living at 23 Russell St, Liverpool at the time of his death. I also have a copy of his marriagneme certificate to Sophia, she was his second wife and she had three children with him, Sarah who died in infancy, William Henry, who is my Great Grandfather and John Myers. His 1st wife was Jane Turner and she died in 1840, they had one son, Joseph. I also have a copy of his will.

His Father was Joseph Chippendale and his mother was Mary nee Myers hence the name Myers given to the sons. His father was a cotton manufacturer in Yorkshire. I don't have any info on his travels.
Contact me if you want any more info.

Hi LK and thanks for that. Yes, he is a descendent of my chappie and I have lots of info on the Chippendales. They were mostly miners so I was curious as to how they had one listed as a 'surgeon/doctor'. Ah well, curiosity killed the cat as they say!

Thank you again. Cx

Thank you all.

That is true Fans...and obviously back in 1850 to father young Sarah.

SatNav....thank you for that.

Just thought I would have a root around with this chappie.

Now I have noticed the time, I had better say goodnight to you all and will return in the morning in the hope that my brain cells are refreshed. :))

Maybe he just decided to become a "Surgeon"and put College US so no one could check his credentials?

And young Joseph is a painter...Fanny goes off wondering

What makes you think he studied with Mr Coffin?

There are various records that match with the name and birth...but are listed as 'painter'

No Cyns...not an ous painter!

Big gap between children so must be a second marriage to Sophia?
And young Joseph is whos?

If Joseph was born in Yorkshire William must have been here then to have taken his part in the event?

Hi, can anyone please tell me if it is possible to access Passenger list for the above dates?

I am looking for the travels of a Dr. William Myers Chippendale who, on the 1851 census, is listed as a 'Surgeon, College of New York'.

William was born in Yorkshire c1813 and died before the 1861 census - his wife Sophia, is listed as widow.

I would be very grateful for any help or advice on this.

Thanks. Cx.

After some rooting around, it looks as though he may possibly have been connected with a Dr. Alfred Coffin...a herbalist.
